Sheriff's office: 68-year-old woman dead after motorcycle crash

A motorcyclist died after a crash in Ross Township on Tuesday, according to the Butler County Sheriff's Office.

It happened around 8:48 p.m. at the intersection of US 27 and Ross-Hanover Road for a crash involving a motorcycle and a car.

The Butler County Sheriff's Office said the motorcycle was turning right on US 27 from Ross Hanover Road when it crossed the double yellow center line and hit the car.

The motorcyclist, a 68-year-old woman from Fairfield, was thrown from the motorcycle. The sheriff's office said citizens started performing CPR until medics arrived but despite life-saving measures, the woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Butler county Coroner's Office has identified the woman as Cynthia Massey, 68.

The crash is still under investigation, the sheriff's office said.
