Information in the Sheriff’s Blotter is gathered from the dispatch logs provided by the Plumas County Sheriff’s Office. No individual’s names are reported. And those arrested should be presumed innocent until proven guilty.
The following is a summary of activity for July 2-7, 2022
10:58 a.m. Portola. A caller requests medical for two subjects with arm and leg injuries from a vehicle rolling over them. The call was transferred to Eastern Plumas Health Care. 11 a.m. Fire was paged. 11:10 a.m. Fire advised that medics and the rest of Fire can cancel; the patients are going in a private vehicle to the emergency room.
1:24 p.m. Blairsden. A caller reports smoke in her home; she is unsure where it is coming from. Graeagle Fire was paged. 1:35 p.m. The caller recontacted and said she was cooking food in the microwave and that was the source of the smoke. Fire can cancel.
The trees are dancing again
5 p.m. Portola. A caller reports a single vehicle crashed into a tree, a white Dodge Durango. Injuries are unknown, the caller cannot see the driver. The vehicle is in a ditch. Multiple cars are stopping to help. 5:02 p.m. A second caller said the same. The caller was driving by. Another caller with no additional information called. She and her husband stopped to help. The husband is out of the vehicle, the caller stayed in the vehicle. Beckwourth Fire and EPHC ambulance were paged. 5:12 p.m. USFS self dispatched an engine in case of a vegetation fire. Fire is on the scene and advised both parties are out of the vehicle. 5:31 p.m. Both subjects proceeded against medical advice.
5:32 p.m. Meadow Valley. A caller advised a subject showed up to her house, assaulted her and caused an argument in front of her children. The subject accused the caller of stealing drugs from a vehicle. The subject was indexed from a call earlier in the day. He left in a black Acura with a known female. They are possibly on the way to the female’s residence. 5:43 p.m. The information was given to CHP. 6:20 p.m. CHP is on the lookout for the vehicle but unable to locate. 6:41 p.m. Deputies advised the subject is detainable on a charge of corporal injury to a spouse. 9:41 p.m. The subject was issued a violation for assault. 10:10 p.m. A deputy advised CPS and the DA and VW were notified.
9:44 p.m. Quincy. A caller advised that he was sold uncooked pork from a burrito food truck and is now sick. The caller refused medical and advised that he is currently walking to the medical tent. The caller wants a call from a deputy due to being sold food that made him sick. 11:17 p.m. A deputy advised attempting to contact the caller. There is no voicemail for a message, and it is unknown where the caller is inside the fairgrounds.

10:45 p.m. Quincy. A caller reports that three of the security guards to the music festival have been standing in front of her residence staring into her home and it is causing her daughter to feel unsafe. 11:18 p.m. A Sgt. contacted the caller and the security who sad that the caller was 86’d out of the festival and was given a trespass warning. All parties agreed to keep the peace and are okay.
10:53 p.m. Graeagle. A caller reports that his neighbors are having a campfire in their backyard. Graeagle Fire was paged. 11:19 p.m. The fire has been put out. No further assistance is needed.
11:12 a.m. Chester. A caller reports a group of people are camping in Warner Valley, about 3 miles up the road. There is a camp, not in a campground, and they have been there several days.
3:36 p.m. Quincy. A caller reports that a suspect pushed his girlfriend with her shoulder while she was in line for the bathroom at High Sierra Music Festival. The caller requests the information on file. No medical is needed. The victim and subject were named.
9:25 p.m. Portola. A caller reports fireworks near the area. 9:34 p.m. Multiple calls were received reporting the same. 9:36 p.m. The original caller requests contact at the pond. She found a burned off firework. No subjects are in the area. 10:09 p.m. A deputy advised unable to locate anyone in the area and soaked the remaining fireworks in the area in water.
12 a.m. Cromberg. A caller reports loud music at a location that has been going on all night. 12:03 a.m. Spoke to the night manager who advised the music was under 60 decibels. She is attempting to reach the wedding planner at the location. 1 a.m. A deputy advised attempting to reach the caller and left a voicemail. 2:01 a.m. A deputy advised the lodge was quiet upon arrival.
2:42 a.m. Quincy. A caller reports a possible overdose at the entrance to the grandstand. 2:45 a.m. Multiple calls reported the same situation. No parties were providing information, could just hear multiple subjects yelling in the background. One subject stated he has Narcan, and another female stated she is a nurse. Not further information was given other than a possible overdose. 2:45 a.m. PDH ambulance was paged. 2:47 a.m. Plumas medics advised medical staff on scene will handle. 3:08 a.m. High Sierra medical staff to handle.
4:56 a.m. Quincy. High Sierra staff advised they have a 63-year-old female who has been riding the shuttle around the fest with nowhere to go and was “abandoned” at the festival by her boyfriend who took their vehicle and left her there. 5:01 a.m. It is unclear what assistance the caller is requesting. The subject is okay, she just has no where to go. The caller was advised a deputy would call back at 7 a.m. The caller said the subject will stay with staff at a tent until the deputy calls. 7:24 a.m. A deputy advised it is possibly a 5150 situation and a mental health unit is responding. 8:26 a.m. Per the deputy, it is not a 5150 situation, units will check for the party the subject came with. 9:06 a.m. Deputies left a message for the subject’s brother and friend. Deputies also contacted the Crisis Line for services. 9:21 a.m. Per the deputy, Crisis Intervention is unable to find temporary housing. The subject does not meet 5150 criteria and is saying that she is okay. The information is on file only.
10:37 a.m. Quincy. A caller reports a bike theft at the music festival.
11:53 a.m. Portola. A caller reports a Newfoundland, and 3 Pit bull mixes are at large and threatening a woman out walking. The dogs belong to a yellow house. 1:18 p.m. A deputy was unable to locate the dogs and the information was forwarded to Animal Control.

12:16 p.m. Portola. A caller requests Poison Control for a child that swallowed sunblock. The call was transferred to Poison Control.
2 p.m. Lake Almanor. A caller reports a reckless driver in a white GMC diesel truck driving all over the road with Nevada plates. The call was transferred to CHP.
3:48 p.m. Lake Almanor. A caller reports 2 Seadoos (orange/yellow) Wave Runners ridden by two females in their early 20s and associated with a white Chevy pick up are currently on the shore but when out on the water are harassing wildlife and running close to paddleboarders and others on the water. 4:36 p.m. Boat Patrol counseled 2 juveniles.

3:54 p.m. Graeagle. A caller reports a grey Altima hit and run and the driver is intoxicated with Nevada plates. The call was transferred to CHP.

5:24 p.m. Portola. A caller reports her ex-boyfriend broke into the residence this morning and is refusing to give the keys back to the caller. The suspect may be intoxicated and has possible weapons. 5:36 p.m. The caller said the suspect left the scene and is possibly headed toward the Red and White. 6:06 p.m. A deputy advised the suspect was arrested on a charge of drunk in public.
6:21 p.m. Chester. A caller reports a white and brown Ford pickup doing donuts and speeding up and down the beach. 6:24 p.m. The information was relayed to CHP. 6:32 p.m. The suspect is back in the area. 7:15 p.m. A deputy advised the suspect agreed to keep the peace and move on from the location.
9:02 p.m. Chester. A caller requests a tow for a blue and white pontoon boat with 11 people on the boat and a dead battery. They are 500 feet from the tip of the peninsula. 9:56 p.m. A caller recontacted and requested contact again due to the boat drifting. 10:26 p.m. The boat was towed to Almanor Drive West. Assistance complete.
It’s only 6 hours to the beach
10:10 p.m. Delleker. A caller reports fireworks in the area. 10:23 p.m. A deputy advised a known person spoke to the suspects who were going to pack up and leave the area.

11:17 p.m. Lake Almanor. A caller requested a deputy for juveniles driving cars and on foot around Rec #2, they are not residences of the Country Club — approximately 100 people, no vehicle descriptions were given. 11:53 p.m. A deputy contacted the caller and checked the area and was unable to locate any juveniles.
2:27 a.m. Quincy. A caller reports her vehicle ran out of gas and is partially in the westbound passing lane. The caller is walking to a trailer park to get a gas can and then walking to the gas station. The caller does not need assistance but requests the information be given to CHP that the vehicle is partially in the roadway. The information was transferred to CHP.
Short break for festival and now back to normal
6:07 a.m. Quincy. A caller reports the Nevada government has been attacking him in his home all morning and causing him chest pains. The caller declined an ambulance. He will take the bus to the hospital later today.

11:22 a.m. Meadow Valley. A caller reports theft of several camping items.
The up side of video games or How I was accidentally shot while goofing around
11:13 p.m. Lake Almanor. A caller reports 4-5 juveniles attempted to break into the neighbor’s house. 11:23 p.m. The caller recontacted and advised he has two of the juveniles stopped at the Fire Station on Golf Club Road. The juveniles are all on golf carts. 11:39 p.m. A Sgt. contacted the juveniles who said they were trying to mess with a friend, ] but were at the wrong house.
12:28 a.m. Quincy. A caller reports an unknown suspicious male lurking around the apartment complex looking into windows of multiple apartments. The caller said the suspect is asking if anyone knows where “Stephanie” is. The subject is wearing all black and was last in the breezeway closest to the Sheriff’s Office. 1:31 a.m. A male subject was arrested on charges of probation violation and drunk in public.

6:45 a.m. Quincy. A caller reports that a patient has locked himself in the bathroom and is causing a disturbance. 7:51 a.m. A deputy advised providing a ride home for the subject.

12:04 p.m. Portola. A caller requests a welfare check on a named subject. The caller has not seen him outside the past couple of days and his dogs are barking a lot and she is concerned there is something wrong with him. 1:10 p.m. A deputy advised the subject will not answer the door. The deputy spoke with the subject’s brother who spoke with the subject an hour ago and doesn’t want to talk to anyone.
1:23 p.m. Bucks Lake. A caller reports overdue parties. Her ex-husband took her children up to his cabin at Bucks Lake for the 4th of July weekend and has yet to return. They were to return yesterday. She does not know the address of the cabin but still requests a call back. 3:02 p.m. A deputy advised contacting the caller who has no info on the possible whereabouts except for “the Bucks Lake area.” The caller will attempt to get an address and call back.
2:40 p.m. Quincy. A caller requests extra patrol checks on Fairgrounds Road for some festival goers that have remained on the property. 4:56 p.m. A deputy checked the area and was unable to tell which people were employees or overdue campers. The deputy will recontact the caller tomorrow.

5:01 p.m. Chester. A caller reports that the male subject came in and caused an argument with a female and then pushed her. The caller said the subjects are no longer inside the store but are standing out in front of the store. A male and a female subject, with no weapons, are now leaving in a black Toyota.
6:03 p.m. Quincy. A caller reports a suspicious person following the UPS truck as it is making deliveries. The subject has light-colored hair, a green tank top, blue jeans on a bike with 5-spoke wheels (kind of looked like a BMX bike). The caller received a camera alert when a package was delivered, and the female rode her bike into his driveway a couple of minutes later. The caller only wants the information on file for now. 6:18 p.m. A deputy advised checking the area but was unable to locate anyone.
9:17 p.m. Meadow Valley. A caller reports a dog is running on the road on Ada Lane. It is a German Shepherd named Lila. The caller said the dog is known to Animal Control. The dog went after the caller’s daughter while she was on her bike. The information was faxed to Animal Control.

10:15 p.m. Chester. A deputy received a report from a gas station in Chester. The caller reported that a male subject came in and tried to use a female ID to make a purchase. 10:39 p.m. The store owner requests the information on file. The caller is unable to provide any further information regarding the suspect information or ID used.
10:19 p.m. Quincy. A caller requests a welfare check on his friend. The caller said the subject made some statements on Facebook that concerned the caller, statements that he was done with life and just done in general. The caller said the subject never stated any specific means on if or how he was going to harm himself. The caller does not know the address of the subject or if he lives alone. There are unknown weapons in the home. 10:44 p.m. A Sgt. spoke with the subject via telephone. The subject was referring to being done with social media. The subject advised the Sgt. that he was and is okay.
11:03 p.m. Quincy. A caller is calling to ramble about Osama Bin Laden. The caller called again then hung up.
4:41 a.m. Portola. A caller reports a small vegetation fire along Riverside and Gulling, about 1-3 feet tall flames and someone is standing near it. No further information, the caller saw it as he was driving by. Beckwourth Fire was paged. 5:07 a.m. A deputy was requested at the location. 5:30 a.m. A male subject was arrested on a charge of drunk in public. 6:32 a.m. A Sgt. advised a high level of intoxication, the subject was unable to provide name. They are waiting for the fingerprints to come back to make an identification.
6:54 a.m. Portola. A caller requests a welfare check on a subject no one has seen him for some time. A neighbor went into the home last night and they are concerned because there are weapons all over the house and the dogs will not stop barking. 10:34 a.m. The deputy advised the subject is currently in the hospital and will remain overnight. The housekeeper is taking care of his dogs.

7:21 a.m. Graeagle. A caller reports the theft of a small mobile scooter that was mounted on her car.
7:30 a.m. Beckwourth. A caller reports her husband with dementia is missing, she first noticed him missing around 6:30 a.m. He usually wanders around Burnham Ranch Road, but the caller has looked in the normal places. 7:45 a.m. The caller called back to say a neighbor just called to inform her that the subject is there and okay.
10:55 a.m. Portola. A caller reports losing a handgun. They left it on the top of the vehicle.
What is the name of the God of Wind?
1:55 p.m. Lake Almanor Peninsula. A caller reports that she can see a white sail boat that has flipped over. The caller said it appears that the boat owner is trying to get the boat back upright. There is another boat next to it trying to help them. It appears one person is in the water swimming around the boat.
This time the fish took the trophy
4:01 p.m. Belden. A caller reports losing a fishing vest with fly-fishing gear on the Feather River.
4:26 p.m. Clio. A caller reports a trash fire that she put out. Trash was in the driveway of the resort. The caller confirmed the fire was out, there is no smoke or flames. The caller said the trash fire had mail in it with an address in Delleker. 5:29 p.m. A deputy advised unable to reach the caller via phone. The deputy is on the way to the resort. 5:58 p.m. The deputy advised suspicious circumstances only. It appears that the trash fell out of the garbage truck.
8:36 p.m. Portola. A caller reports homeless persons throwing rocks into the street. The caller is unsure how many are living in the tents in the alley behind Commercial Street.
11:44 p.m. Portola. A caller reports her neighbor is playing loud music at all hours, can hear the music playing in the background. 11:53 p.m. The parties have a habit of making reports on each other. July 8, 12:48 a.m. A deputy advised all parties agreed to keep the peace.
