Ranbir Kapoor's Shamshera weekend collection has not been great, to say the least. The film has failed to pull audience to the theatres, and just like many Bollywood actions films of 2022, looks like Shamshera too will tank at the box office. Shamshera also stars Vaani Kapoor and Sanjay Dutt.

Shamshera embarked on its journey with an opening of Rs 10.25 crore on Day 1. While the film was expected to take off during the weekend, it looks like the collection remained low despite good word of mouth. During the first weekend, Shamshera earned a mere Rs 31 crore and looks like the lifetime collection of the film will be near Rs 65-75 crore.

According to a report by Bollywood Hungama, the show saw a huge 70 per cent drop in bookings on Monday. The report states that Shamshera earned a mere Rs 4 crore on the first weekday.

The storyline of Shamshera follows Ranbir Kapoor's character being pitted against Sanjay Dutt. The latter plays the role of an evil, merciless and cold-hearted man named Shuddh Singh. The film is set in the 1800 fictitious city of Kaza, where a warrior tribe is imprisoned, enslaved and tortured by a ruthless authoritarian general Shuddh Singh. The story focusses on a slave who becomes a leader and then a legend for his tribe. He relentlessly fights for his tribe's freedom and dignity. Shamshera also stars Ronit Roy, Saurabh Shukla and Ashutosh Rana in pivotal roles.
