New fire extinguished within 45 minutes, officials say

A fire at a medical office building in Derry rekindled early Thursday morning.

Fire officials said the fire rekindled in the roof and was extinguished in about 45 minutes.

No additional injuries were reported, but three firefighters were taken to Parkland Medical Center on Wednesday afternoon to be treated for minor injuries after battling the original fire. They were all released from the hospital. Everyone who was inside the building made it out.

The four-alarm fire at Overlook Medical Park started just after 3 p.m. Wednesday and was initially put out hours later.

A video taken by a witness showed heavy flames as firefighters arrived. Crews from a dozen towns responded.

The building is home to medical offices like Derry Medical Center Primary Care and New England Heart and Vascular Institution.

In a statement posted to Facebook, officials with DMC Primary Care expressed their gratitude to fire crews and announced that patients would be re-routed to other providers until the Derry office can reopen.

"We are incredibly thankful that everyone evacuated 6 Tsienneto Road safely yesterday during the fire. We are SO VERY GRATEFUL to Derry, NH Police Department and Derry, NH Fire Department for their quick response and leadership, as well as all of the fire departments from surrounding towns who responded. DMC providers and staff did a remarkable job keeping everyone calm and safe in a very stressful situation.

"We are absolutely humbled by the outpouring of support from our community. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. We will keep you updated on progress as far as getting back to business as usual at 6 Tsienneto Rd. and in the meantime patient care is still our top priority. We will continue to re-route providers and patients to our other practice locations until we are able to return to our beloved Derry office," DMC Primary Care wrote on Facebook.

The cause of the fire is under investigation but it is not believed to be suspicious, officials said.
